Center For Biological Diversity “Incredibly Disappointed” With Supreme Court Denial of Stay of Water Use at Project Jupiter

Today the New Mexico Supreme Court denied the Center for Biological Diversity’s emergency petition to stop water pumping from a new water well that has supplied over 197 million gallons for Project Jupiter’s construction. 

The court had temporarily halted water pumping while reviewing the Center’s petition. 

“We’re incredibly disappointed with this ruling,” said Colin Cox, a New Mexico-based attorney at the Center for Biological Diversity. “The Office of the State Engineer has been rubber-stamping the use of our precious fresh water by wildly unpopular data centers and this ruling will only make things worse. We’ll continue to fight until our governor and regulators act in the interest of all New Mexicans rather than as shills for giant corporations.”
