Major announcement planned during international quantum conference in Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE – New Mexico will step into the international spotlight as the “quantum state” next week, showcasing its growing momentum in science, technology, and innovation during IEEE Quantum Week in Albuquerque.

The IEEE International Conference on Quantum Computing and Engineering (QCE), or Quantum Week, is a premier international gathering of quantum researchers and industry members that brings together quantum science and innovation.

The conference will include keynote speeches from industry leaders representing tech giants such as IBM, Microsoft, and NVIDIA.

The conference is at the Albuquerque Convention Center from Aug. 31-Sept. 5.

On Monday, the Economic Development Department announced the selection of Roadrunner Venture Studios as the state’s partner to deploy $25 million to accelerate quantum innovation and commercialization.

During IEEE Quantum Week, the EDD make another new, major partnership announcement, highlighting New Mexico’s leadership role in quantum.

The state of New Mexico will also host a New Mexico Quantum Pavilion at the conference, featuring the collective strength of its innovation ecosystem and representation from the City of Albuquerque, the New Mexico Partnership, Roadrunner Venture Studio, Elevate Quantum, CNM Ingenuity, Sandia National Labs, the University of New Mexico, and the Air Force Research Laboratory.
